These buttermilk air fryer biscuits are so irresistible and easy to make, you will want to make them with every meal. One of the things I love most about them, besides their taste and texture, is if you’re cooking a meal and using your oven, these can go in the air fryer and save you some room.

Don’t be intimidated by making biscuit dough if you have never done it before. Just take your time and make sure to lightly flour the area you are using to knead and roll your dough and you will have perfect biscuits!

These biscuits go perfect with breakfast, brunch and dinner. They are also an easy addition to your Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

They also pair well with my Instant Pot chicken spaghetti, pumpkin bisque or tomato beef kluski.

Fold the left side of the dough over to the middle. Then fold the right side of the dough over to the middle like a letter. Turn the dough horizontal. Carefully pat dough down into another rectangle and fold again.

A rolling pin on top of biscuit batter on a Silpat baking mat

Pat the dough into a final rectangle and use a floured rolling pin to roll dough to 3/4 inches thick. (If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can use your hands to pat into the shape and size needed.)

Four raw biscuits placed into a basket of an air fryer

Place biscuits into your preheated air fryer so they are not touching. (I was able to fit four at a time.)

Four air fried, golden brown biscuits in the basket of an air fryer

Set air fryer to bake biscuits for about 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown. (As some air fryers are different, you may need to start checking the biscuits at 6 minutes and bake longer from there.)

Brushing melted butter on a biscuit with a green pastry brush

Melt the last two tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl for about 12-second increments and brush onto biscuits. Air fry remaining biscuits, serve and enjoy!

Hint: My biscuits do not usually stick to my air fryer, but if you have trouble with sticking, you can add some parchment paper to the basket or spray some nonstick cooking spray on it.

Equipment

Storage

The biscuits are usually best enjoyed the day they are made, but you can store them for up to 2 days in an airtight container or sealed food storage bag.

They can be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container or sealed food storage bag.

Top tip

I use a Silpat baking mat and a dusting of flour to knead and cut out my biscuits on. It really helps with the sticking and keeping your counter from getting so messy.
